With a population of 2.8 million, Miami-Dade County is the largest county in Florida and the 7th most populous county in the United States. At more than 2,400 square miles, the county is larger than Rhode Island and Delaware. One-third of the county is located in the unique and world-famous Everglades National Park.
The stunning City of Miami, five miles east of Coral Gables, is the seat of Miami-Dade County. It is also home to one of the world’s largest ports, PortMiami, which logged a record 5.3 million multiday cruise passengers in 2018.
